Purpose of check
The purpose of this check is for an employer to check your criminal record for any role (where a higher level is not required). This is the lowest level of disclosure available. Applications for basic disclosure will be processed according to the Scottish rules under the Rehabilitation periods for particular sentences section of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
What is checked?
Any unspent convictions will be checked on the individual's criminal record.
Where will my certificate be sent?
The certificate will be sent to your employer.
Track your application
When completing your Disclosure check you will be asked if you would like to track your application. Select "Yes" and your application reference number will emailed to you once your application is sent to Disclosure Scotland.
