Amiqus is a secure, digital compliance platform that enables you to run background checks, right-to-work checks, identity verification, and more – all from one place. By integrating Amiqus with your workflow, you can streamline your compliance and onboarding processes with minimal effort.
All checks are completed online, and candidates can respond from any device. Amiqus helps you meet regulatory requirements while creating a smooth experience for your hiring team and candidates.
The integration with Greenhouse Recruiting allows you to add an Amiqus background check to a job interview plan.

Enabling the Integration
You'll need to be an admin user on Amiqus and have the "Can manage ALL organisation's API Credentials" permission in Greenhouse to complete the setup. You can learn more about permission levels in Greenhouse and how to set them up here.
What You’ll Need
- Amiqus Integration Enabled: Email support@amiqus.co to request this feature be enabled for your Amiqus account.
- You'll need to create 2 Greenhouse API Keys: a Harvest API Key and a Job Board API Key.
-
Within your Greenhouse account, go to Configure(
)>Dev Center>API Credential Management. - Click Create New API Key (only accessible with the relevant permissions).
-
Select API Type: Harvest, Partner: Custom and give it a descriptive name. Click Manage Permissions. The API Key is then generated and you'll need to save this somewhere secure for use in the connection step. Click I have stored the API key to confirm you have saved this somewhere secure.
-
On the settings page, under Manage permissions, enable Select all and click Save.
-
- Repeat steps 1-3, this time selecting API Type: Job Board, Partner: Custom and give it a descriptive name. Then click Create.
- You'll also need the user ID of a user with Site admin permissions. You can find instructions on how to locate this ID here.
Connection Steps
- Once you have all the above, navigate to the Workflow>Team apps area of your Amiqus account (https://id.amiqus.co/team/workflow/apps)
- Click Connect Greenhouse account.
-
You'll need to copy your External Trigger Token for the last step. Enter the rest of the information in the pop-up window and click Connect.
- You'll need to securely send your External Trigger Token to the Greenhouse Support Team.
- Click here to open a ticket with them or go to www.greenhouse.io/asksupport. (Do NOT send this token in your initial email/ticket)
- They will respond with a SendSafely link for you to send them your External Trigger Token. You can find out more information about this process here.
Creating Templates
Before you can send requests, you'll need to have at least one Live request template set up in Amiqus, from which to select from. You can find information you need to create request templates in the following articles:
How you can customise your workflow
Workflow and Admin Overview Training Video
Please note that any messaging within your templates will be the same for all candidates; there are no dynamic fields within the messaging (eg for the candidates name).
Sending Amiqus Requests in Greenhouse
Once the integration has been enabled, you can now add the Amiqus background check as an interview stage in Greenhouse.
-
In the Interview Plan of a new job or when editing a current job, select Add Stage.
-
Choose Amiqus and click Add. Then move this stage to the place in the plan you would like the Amiqus Request to be sent. You can change the order of stages in an interview plan by clicking and dragging on the stage name
- Optionally, once the stage is in the interview plan, you can modify it by selecting the pencil icon next to the stage name. Here you can select the specific background check template from your Amiqus account.
-
Whenever a candidate reaches this stage, the Send test to candidate option will be ready to select.
Setting up notifications
If you would like to receive notifications on the check status, we recommend assigning yourself and/or a colleague to the person and/or request in Amiqus, that way you'll be notified when the candidate completes the request.
You can do this on an individual basis within each person or request, or you can set this up within a request template.
You can customise your notification settings at any time, choosing from in app and/or email notifications.
Check Results
Once the candidate has completed their request, they'll be marked as Ready for Review in Amiqus. Once you are happy with the check results, you will need to mark the request as Reviewed.
Once the check has been marked as Reviewed, Greenhouse will reflect that the request has been submitted and you'll be able to access the results and grade the step.
Our Support Centre contains information about all check types including how to review the results. A few of the common check types have been listed below:
Photo ID Verification: Reviewing the Results
Photo ID Verification: Reviewing the Results - Right to Work
Automated Employment Referencing: Reviewing The Results
Amiqus Integration Workflow
After the integration is enabled, here's how the process works:
- Candidate Details Sent to Amiqus: When the candidate reaches the relevant stage in the interview plan, Greenhouse sends the candidate's first name, last name, and email address to Amiqus. Make sure these fields are complete in Greenhouse.
- Candidate Receives Request: The candidate gets an email with check details based on the selected template.
- Candidate Completes Checks: The candidate completes the required checks online.
- Review Results: Mark the check as Reviewed once you are happy with the results.
- Greenhouse Updated: The check status is updated with a link to view the full results on Amiqus.
