A significant change introduced by the Disclosure (Scotland) Act is that you, the applicant, will now see your disclosure results before they are shared with any organisation. This allows you the opportunity to review your personal information and ensure that your rights are respected. The organisation will not receive your disclosure results until you have viewed and shared your copy online.
Disclosure Scotland aims to process your application within 14 days.
- When your disclosure has been processed, you will receive an email notification with a secure link to view it.
- You will be directed to account.disclosure.scot to log into your online account.
- A 6-digit one-time passcode will be sent to the phone number provided on your application.
- Enter this code to access your account dashboard.
- Once available, your online account dashboard will display your application, including the name of the organisation that countersigned it and a yellow "Result read" label. Click on this to view your disclosure.
- The top of the results screen will confirm your disclosure's sharing status.
- By default, your disclosure is not shared with the organisation until you click the blue "Share the disclosure" button at the top of the results screen. Once clicked, your disclosure will be automatically shared with the organisations listed in your sharing status, including the one that countersigned it, which is Amiqus.
- You have 14 days to share your disclosure after viewing it on your online account. The share button will deactivate after this period. If you do not share your disclosure, you will receive two automatic email reminders during this time. If you are unable to view or share your disclosure within this 14 day period, please contact Disclosure Scotland directly, and they will be glad to assist.
- After clicking the blue "Share this disclosure" button, your disclosure will be shared with the organisation and Amiqus, and you will be taken to the confirmation screen.
- This will also be indicated by a "Result shared" label next to the application on your dashboard. The same will be reflected on your result screen. If you have viewed your disclosure but not shared it, it will display a "Result viewed" label instead.
